THE CAPE DUTCH ARCHITECTURE STYLE

BOSCHENDAL MANOR HOUSE

Cape Dutch architecture is a style endemic to the Cape and it characterised by an ornate central gable, symmetrical facades, and sliding sash windows, white walls and thatched roofs. While luxyrious at the time of building, the relatively smalls scale and well balanced proportions contriubute to the beauty and popularity of the style.
