LION'S HEAD MOUNTAIN FROM GRANGER BAY





NO 1. AROUND LION'S HEAD

CABLE CAR, GRANGER BAY AND WATERFRONT

On a clear day, take the cable car up to the top of table Mountain. There is a small resetaurant there, but bring your own water and snacks as there is quite a lot of walking to be done to cover the top of this flat mountain. Once down, take a drive to Granger Bay for some time at the coastline. End your day at the V & Waterfront where there is always plenty of live entertainment and a choice of fine dining.

NO 2. SEAPOINT, GREEN POINT AND WATERFRONT

Nature by morning, shopping by night.
Begin your day with breakfast at one of the restaurants located in Seapoint, or from a kiosk at the park. Take a swim in one of the fresh water pools if you like. You can walk along the promenade all the way to Granger Bay, or if you prefer, take your car to Green Point park and enjoy a picnic in the Shadow of the Cape Town Stadium. End your day looking at the art and sculptures at the Waterfront, or just enjoy the unbeatable atmosphere.









THE SWIMMING POOLS AT SEAPOINT


The swimming pools at Seapoint are always warmer than the Atlantic Ocean and are very reasonably priced. With the beautiful Seapoint Park and promenade adjacent to the pools this is a relaxing attraction.

GREENPOINT PARK


The Green Point park was developed the same time as the Cape Town stadium for the 2010 soccer world cup that was held in South Africa. The beautiful park is a wonderful legacy of this occassion.







THE WATERFRONT


There is always plenty to see and do at the V & A Waterfront. Shown here is the Clock Tower which is one of the many historical attractions in the complex.

NO 3. HISTORICAL TOUR

Castle of Good Hope, Company Gardens and Bo Kaap Area
The historical tour of central Cape Town can begin at the oldest public building in the place - the Cape Town castle. The military museum, governer's house and fountain area will inform visitors of many of the events of great significance in South Africa's history.

THE COMPANY GARDENS


After seeing the castle, take a short walk past the Town Hall toward the company gardens. This is a natural attraction in its own right, and is the oldest cultivated garden in the country. The gardens form the central focal point of many places of interest including the Iziko Slave Museum, Centre of the Book, SA National Gallery and the Planetarium, to name but a few.




THE BO KAAP


The Bo Kaap is a suburb in Cape Town with historical significance which can be discovered at the Museum of the same name. A unique and colourful architectural style makes for memorable photos of this charming tourist attraction. See also the nearby

NO 5. KIRSTENBOSCH, RHODES MEMORIAL and BLOUBERG

Within 20 minutes of the City Center
One of the most famous attractions in the Western Cape is the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Located less than 20 minutes from the city centre this glorious garden is not to be missed. Views of the Southern side of Table mountain form the backdrop for lovely photos of the indigenous trees, plants and Fynbos.







RHODES MEMORIAL


This important monument was built by a significant historical figure - Cecil John Rhodes and consists of a U-shaped colonnaded building that is adorned with eight lion statues carved from granite. It was completed as recently as 1912 and is located on the Eastern side of Devil's Peak.

BLOUBERG BEACH


You've spent most of your evenings relaxing at the Waterfront, now its time to spread your wings a little and head out to Blouberg beach where you can enjoy great restaurants and time on the sand with a classic view of Cape Towns iconic flat-topped mountain.
