1. DEVONBOSCH OFFICES

Near Stellenbosch

A bold design with a cut-out effect into a massive block. Receding lower floor creates a floating effect for the higher stories. Designed by Rise Architects.




2.FRESNAYE HOUSE

UNKNOWN ARCHITECT
The series of curved cantilever beams creates a sense of movement agains the backdrop of Lions Head Mountain. Frameless glass balustrades reduce clutter.






3. HIBERNIAN TOWERS


Ideally located on Strand Beach, this building was a courageous design by Studio D Arc Architects. A flurry of rounded beams and balconies affords each apartment with unparalleled views of False bay. Built by contractor J Van Der Sluys suring the boom of 2004.

3. OCEAN VIEW


This luxury apartment building is located very near to the Hibernian Towers and consists of 16 stories reaching a height of 52m. It was completed in 2006 and was designed by Mitchell & Botha Architects. The undulating facade is an example of the deconstructivist style.

REDITUS FARMHOUSE


The subtle facade with wide tinting glazing is designed to capitlize on the stunning views. The sparkling rim-flow pool and landscaping design compliment the country environment. Designed by Beverley Hui Architects.





6. PAARDEVLEI LUXURY APARTMENTS


This national treasure is located between the picturesque towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, just an hours drive from Cape Town central. The rounded sliding sash windows, thatch roof and curved gable are typical of the Cape Dutch style. The home's setting in front of the Groot Drakenstein mountain range, makes it one of the most photogenic Cape Dutch buildings, and a great place to enjoy wine tasting and the restaurant that are situated in the historical outbuildings of the manor house.






7. THE SANCTUARY SHOPPING CENTRE


The vast glazing is deeply recessed behind an envelope of reinforced concrete beams that encompasses the whole buildign form. Designed by SVA architects for developer Abacus Asset Management.

Equipped with its own solar electrical supply, the building also has borehole water supply to the toilets, making it a trully self-sufficient modern builing. Aethetically, the design also interacts well with it's environment, with high performance glazing reflecting the natural wetland that it stands upon. Located in the satellite town of Somerset West, it was designed by SVA international architects and opened its doors in 2016.





9. WATERWAY HOUSE


Designed by well-known firm of Cape Town architects - DHK, the building exemplifies their style with its subtle colour tones and strong vertical facade features. Also making use of many green architecture principles, the design is at once functionally suited and visually compelling.
